Tralics, a LTEX to XML Translator
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper we describe Tralics, a LTEX to XML translator. A previous version of the software (written in Perl) was used to obtain the pdf version of Inria’s “Rapport d’Activité” for year 2001. The current version of the software (written in C++) is used for both the HTML and pdf version for the year 2002. The XML generated by Tralics conforms to a local DTD, similar to the TEI; it was converted to pdf using pdfTEX and the xmltex package, and the HTML was obtained via an XSLT processor. We explain here the philosophy of the software, its usage, limitations, and customization.

CEDRICS: When CEDRAM Meets Tralics
We describe CEDRICS, a general purpose system for automated journal production entirely based on a LTEX input format. We show how the very basic ideas that initiated the whole effort turned into an efficient system because of the ability of LTEX markup to parametrise simultaneously and without compromise high typographical quality for the PDF output as well as accurate XML metadata with (presen...
متن کاملProducing MathML with Tralics
The purpose of this paper is to show that it is possible to translate almost every mathematical formula from LATEX syntax to XML. The document you are reading contains a great number of formulas extracted from the TEXbook, the LATEX companion, the MathML recommendation, and translated into XML by Tralics; it is available in Pdf or HTML version. The HTML version was produced using a very simple ...
متن کاملOn using HEVEA, a fast LTEX to html translator
Most users who discover a LTEX to html translator such as HEVEA have the following expectation : getting a html-version of some document doc.tex, should be as simple as typing “hevea doc.tex”, provided “latex doc.tex” already works. And indeed, much of the work invested in the development of HEVEA aim at fulfilling this expectation. For instance, the design of HEVEA is much inspired by the desi...
متن کاملCan LTEX Profiles be Rendered Adequately with Static CSS?
Can LTEX Profiles be Rendered Adequately with Static CSS? MathJax demonstrates that heavy customization of CSS with JavaScript and webfonts provides good platform-dependent rendering. The issue with MathJax is speed, not quality. There has been and continues to be intense development with CSS. One may speculate that, as CSS continues to evolve, static CSS may entirely suffice not only for HTML ...
متن کاملExtracting Interlinear Glossed Text from LaTeX Documents
We present texigt, a command-line tool for the extraction of structured linguistic data from LTEX source documents, and a language resource that has been generated using this tool: a corpus of interlinear glossed text (IGT) extracted from open access books published by Language Science Press. Extracted examples are represented in a simple XML format that is easy to process and can be used to va...
